Fractional CMO for healthcare

A fractional CMO for clinics, health plans and health brands that need patients, not impressions.

I'm Monica Hacker. I lead growth for healthcare organizations as a fractional CMO: patient and member acquisition, compliance safe paid media, the intake funnel, and tracking that respects the rules. Senior leadership on a retainer, with the AI system underneath keeping it moving.

Based in New York and Miami. Working with healthcare teams across the US.

The pattern

In healthcare, growth usually breaks between the click and the appointment.

Most healthcare marketing I inherit is a media plan with a landing page attached. The ads run, the leads come in, and then the intake process, the call center, the booking flow, the follow up, loses half of them before anyone becomes a patient. Nobody is measuring that part, partly because tracking in healthcare is hard to do correctly, so the media team optimizes for form fills and leadership wonders why volume is up and the schedule isn't.

Then there's the compliance layer. Health claims, sensitive category targeting, HIPAA and what a pixel is allowed to see. Most agencies either ignore it until legal notices or get so cautious that the creative says nothing. Both cost you patients.

So I start with the whole path. Where patients come from and what they cost, where the intake funnel drops them, what a booked appointment is actually worth, and what the demand around you looks like. Then the plan, in priority order.

What I run

How a healthcare engagement usually works.

01

Compliance safe acquisition

Google, Meta, LinkedIn and CTV structured around the service lines that matter, creative that stays inside platform and regulatory lines and still says something, and landing pages built for the way patients actually decide.

02

The intake funnel, fixed

From first click to booked appointment: forms, scheduling, call handling, reminders and follow up. This is where most healthcare growth leaks, and it's where I spend real time.

03

Measurement that respects the rules

Conversion tracking and reporting designed so no protected health information moves where it shouldn't, and the leadership team still sees cost per booked patient, not just cost per lead.

Who this is for

Healthcare teams I tend to work best with.

Multi location practices and specialty clinics, aesthetic and wellness clinics, health plans reaching members, and health brands selling direct. Usually there's a marketing team or an agency already, and what's missing is someone senior who owns the number and connects media to intake to revenue.

I've also spent years on the consumer side, at brands like Stitch Fix and Huggies, and that matters in healthcare more than people expect. Patients choose the way consumers choose. The organizations that grow are the ones that make it easy.

I go one level deeper for these:

Where to start

Start with a Healthcare Growth Audit.

A prioritized read on patient acquisition, the intake funnel, creative and tracking, delivered in 7 to 10 days with a recorded walkthrough. Most clients turn it into a retainer once they see it.

What I look at first

  • Acquisition: where patients come from, by service line, and what each costs
  • Intake funnel: where prospective patients drop between click and appointment
  • Creative and compliance: what your ads can say, and what they should
  • Tracking: what's measured, what isn't, and what's at risk
  • The verdict: where growth is leaking and what to fix first

Starting at $1,500 Delivered in 7 to 10 days

Credited toward your first month if you move to a retainer.

Fair questions

What healthcare teams ask me first.

What does a fractional CMO do for a healthcare practice or health brand?

Owns patient or member acquisition end to end. Strategy, paid media that stays inside the compliance lines, the intake funnel from first click to booked appointment, tracking that works without leaking PHI, and reporting the leadership team can act on. With me you also get the AI system that keeps the reporting and first pass work running.

Can you run Google and Meta ads for healthcare without compliance problems?

Yes. Healthcare advertising has real constraints: HIPAA, platform policies on health claims and targeting, and the tracking limits that come with both. I build creative and campaigns inside those lines and set up measurement that reports on outcomes without moving protected health information.

Who in healthcare do you work with?

Health plans, clinics and practices, aesthetic and wellness clinics, and health brands that sell direct. Recent work includes paid search and media strategy for a regional health plan.

How much does a fractional CMO cost for a healthcare organization?

From $8,500 a month for about 10 to 12 hours a week, with a 4 month minimum and a review at month 3. Paid acquisition on its own starts at $4,500 a month. A Healthcare Growth Audit is $1,500 and is credited toward your first month.

What is the difference between you and a healthcare marketing agency?

An agency gives you a team and a scope. I give you one senior person accountable for the number, who leads your agency or in house team if you have one and builds around the gaps if you don't. You are not handed to an account manager.

Let's turn media spend into booked patients.

I take on a few new clients each quarter. If you're growing a practice, a plan or a health brand, let's talk about what's next.
