Fractional CMO for dermatology practices

Marketing leadership for dermatology practices that want more of the right patients.

I'm Monica Hacker, a fractional CMO for medical and cosmetic dermatology practices. Patient acquisition by treatment, compliant creative, the booking path from search to exam room, and one senior person accountable for the number.

Part of my healthcare work. Based in New York and Miami.

The pattern

Most dermatology marketing fills the schedule with the wrong visits.

The usual setup is an SEO agency, a Google Ads account bidding on everything, and a front desk handling calls between patients. The cosmetic inquiries worth the most wait the longest. Nobody knows what a new cosmetic patient costs, or what one is worth over a year.

So I start with the whole path. Which treatments bring the patients you want, where inquiries drop between the ad and the consult, and what a booked cosmetic patient is actually worth. Then the plan, in priority order.

What I run

How an engagement usually works.

01

Acquisition by treatment

Search and social built around the treatments that matter most to the practice, with creative that stays inside platform and medical advertising rules.

02

Consult booking that converts

Online booking that works on a phone, fast follow up on cosmetic inquiries, and front desk scripts that turn calls into consults.

03

Retention and referrals

Rebooking timed to treatment cycles, patient email and SMS, reviews, and reporting on cost per booked consult.

Who this is for

Who I tend to work best with.

A medical and cosmetic dermatology practice with one or a few locations, real media spend, and an agency or coordinator producing inquiries that don't turn into consults. Usually the physician owner is running the practice, and what's missing is someone senior who owns the number.

This sits inside my healthcare work. I also go deeper on med spas and aesthetic clinics and plastic and cosmetic surgery.

Where to start

Start with a Dermatology Growth Audit.

A prioritized read on patient acquisition, the consult funnel, creative compliance and retention, delivered in 5 days.

What I look at first

  • Acquisition: which treatments bring patients and what each one costs
  • Consult funnel: where inquiries drop between click, call and exam room
  • Creative and compliance: what your ads can say, and what they should
  • Retention: rebooking, reviews and referrals
  • The verdict: where growth is leaking and what to fix first

Fair questions

What dermatology practices ask me first.

All questions →

What does a fractional CMO do for a dermatology practice?

Owns patient growth end to end: strategy, paid search and social by treatment, the booking path from click to consult, retention, and reporting on cost per booked consult. With me you also get the AI system that keeps the reporting and first pass work running.

How much does a fractional CMO cost for a dermatology practice?

From $8,500 a month, 4 month minimum, review at month 3. Paid acquisition on its own from $4,500 a month. A Growth Audit is $1,500, and it's how most engagements kick off.

Can you advertise cosmetic dermatology on Google and Meta?

Yes, inside the rules. Both platforms restrict how cosmetic and medical treatments are shown and described, and healthcare tracking has its own limits. I build creative and measurement that stay compliant and still convert.

Do you work with medical dermatology, or only cosmetic?

Both. Most practices run both, and the plan usually protects the medical schedule while it grows the cosmetic side, where the margins are.

What I do

Four ways to work with me.

Let's fill the schedule with the right patients.

I take on a few new clients each quarter. If your practice is ready to grow, let's talk.

Thirty minutes. Bring your numbers, or just bring the problem. You'll leave knowing what I'd fix first.
