Acquisition by pet and need
Meta, Google and creator content built around the pet, the problem and the owner, measured on customers who reorder.
Fractional CMO for pet brands
I'm Monica Hacker, a fractional CMO for pet brands. I helped run the paid channels for Scott dog pads, and I bring the same CPG playbook to food, treats, supplies and pet wellness, with one senior person accountable for the number.
Part of my CPG work. Based in New York and Miami.
$10M+in ad spend managed
6.2xreturn on ad spend
$2MARR, grown from $300K for one brand
60%lower cost to acquire a customer
“She doesn't just come in and tell you what you should be doing. She actually gets in there and does it.”
HuggiesThe pattern
Pet parents buy the same food, treats and supplies for years. Yet most pet brands spend on the first order, discount the second, and lose the customer to a big box retailer or a marketplace by the third.
So I start with lifetime value. How often your customer reorders, where they buy, what they're worth over the life of the pet, and which spend brings in the owners who stay. Then the plan, in priority order.
What I run
01
Meta, Google and creator content built around the pet, the problem and the owner, measured on customers who reorder.
02
Subscriptions, reminders timed to usage, and bundles that keep you in the bowl.
03
Amazon, Chewy and retail measured alongside your own site, so you know which spend moves units.
Who this is for
A pet food, treat, supply or wellness brand selling online, on marketplaces or in retail, already spending on growth.
This sits inside my CPG work. Selling on subscription? See fractional CMO for subscription brands.
Where to start
A prioritized read on acquisition, marketplace and retail, autoship and retention, delivered in 5 days.
What I look at first
Owns growth end to end: acquisition, creators, autoship and retention, marketplace and retail measurement, and reporting on what a customer is worth over the life of the pet.
From $8,500 a month, 4 month minimum, review at month 3. Paid acquisition on its own from $4,500 a month. A Growth Audit is $1,500, and it's how most engagements kick off.
Yes. Claims rules work much like human supplements, and I build creative that stays compliant and still sells.
Usually yes, alongside your own site. The work is knowing what each channel is worth and keeping your best customers where the margin is best.
What I do
I take on a few new clients each quarter. If your brand is ready to grow, let's talk.
Book a call →Thirty minutes. Bring your numbers, or just bring the problem. You'll leave knowing what I'd fix first.
